About

me n my fella

I’m a transplanted American, living in Australia for the last 41 years.  My heritage is Italian, German and, of course, American, but I have found my spiritual home here in the red heart of Australia, Alice Springs.  I started this blog in 2011 as part of my own devised ‘therapy’ while going through breast cancer surgery and subsequent treatment. I thought perhaps in my own small way I could contribute to society’s knowledge and understanding of one of life’s experiences.  I could never quite tell when the ‘treatment’ and disease was over, so I have kept writing, about all the things in life that give me pause, delight, teach and honour me.

  1. […] Ardysz published a thoughtful post just recently titled We’re the people. Go over and have a read. However I would like to take a quote from her blog, because I think her words are so wise. […]

  2. Just picked up your “like” on my blog, and here I am on yours. And loving it! I agree we are kindred spirits.

The variety on your blog is wonderful. Your travel section and pictures are great (we are on our way to Berlin soon). I also love your quotations. I may snag that idea for my own blog one of these days.

    1. Thanks Pip, we are traveling at the moment and I don’t have access to my photo collection or time to write something. Maybe next time.

I’m Ardys, the creator and author behind this blog. I’ve found great joy in the unexpected and tiny things in life, as well as some big ones…and in between is where I’ve learned my lessons. I like to write, take photos and paint and I hope it resonates with you.
