I’m a transplanted American, living in Australia for the last 34 years. My heritage is Italian, German and, of course, American, but I have found my spiritual home here in the red heart of Australia, Alice Springs. I started this blog in 2011 as part of my own devised ‘therapy’ while going through breast cancer surgery and subsequent treatment. I thought perhaps in my own small way I could contribute to society’s knowledge and understanding of one of life’s experiences. I could never quite tell when the ‘treatment’ and disease was over, so I have kept writing, about all the things in life that give me pause, delight, teach and honour me.

Just picked up your “like” on my blog, and here I am on yours. And loving it! I agree we are kindred spirits.
The variety on your blog is wonderful. Your travel section and pictures are great (we are on our way to Berlin soon). I also love your quotations. I may snag that idea for my own blog one of these days.
Thanks for reading and the nice comments, Dale. Feel free to snag the quotations idea, I’d love to read your collection of favourites.

Hi – short notice but I thought you might like to submit some photos to the Thomas Cook photo comp. Ends tomorrow. http://sustainabilitysoapbox.com/2015/03/15/explore-the-elements-thomas-cook-photography-competition/
Thanks Pip, we are traveling at the moment and I don’t have access to my photo collection or time to write something. Maybe next time.
