Today is Planetark National Tree Day in Australia. As most of you know I love trees and photograph them often. It might even be genetic; my father grew Christmas Trees for a living! Here’s a little reflecting of some passed tree portraits:
Go out and enjoy a tree or two today. xx
Ardys my favorite SC tree is The Sassafras Tree. You can boil the roots and make a refreshing tea! Mel Smith

I’ve had sassafras tea, and it is good! My Dad used to sometimes chew on a young sassafras twig that he would peel the bark from to reveal the tender part 🙂 Thanks Mel.

I love trees, too. On the drive to southern Ohio and as we drop down into the river valley area (beginning Indian Hill/Montgomery), I often remark that there are just so, so many trees there. Where we grew up is such a beautiful area. It was fun to re-visit these photos today. Some I think I am seeing for the first time.

We always remark at how green southern Ohio is when we visit. I think this year is as green as we have ever seen it, given all the rain they’ve had this spring and summer. Apparently it has been well spread out, too, for a nearly perfect growing season.
